Dr. Gordon S. Olsen Returns to Evanston, Bringing Decades of Orthopedic Experience
Evanston, WY (May 21, 2025)—Evanston Regional Hospital (ERH) recently announced the return of a board-certified orthopedic surgeon to the Evanston community, beginning June 2, 2025.
Dr. Olsen, who previously served the Evanston community from 2000-2015, brings local access to specialties including arthritis management, joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic knee and shoulder procedures, sports medicine, and MAKO Robotic Assisted Joint Replacement Surgery.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Olsen back as a member of the medical staff,” said Cheri Willard, CEO of Evanston Regional Hospital. “Dr. Olsen’s commitment to patient care and experience in orthopedic surgery provide our community with access to personalized, specialized treatment.”

Dr. Olsen earned his medical degree from the University of Des Moines Health Sciences and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Michigan State University/Ingham Regional Medical Center. He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. His experience also includes serving in the US Army as a Lieutenant Colonel, and he has taken tours in Iraq and Kosovo. Dr. Olsen enjoys spending time with family and running, cycling, and skiing in his free time.
